The wedding budget is a part of the wedding that many couples dread. In truth, not a lot of people love to talk about money. But it is a necessary evil where your wedding is concerned. We can say that it is the most crucial part of your wedding planning. To make things easier for you, we at Tina’s Country House & Gardens thought we should share the following seven tips.
- Sort Out Who’s Contributing
Will, it just be you and your partner, or will they be other people involved? Finding out and settling on this is the first step to take concerning your wedding budget.
- Type Out the Numbers
After knowing who will be contributing to your wedding and knowing how much they’ll be providing, it’s time to focus on how much you’ll each be bringing. Base this on your monthly income and savings and try to get together a ballpark figure.
- Estimate Your Guest Count
The cost of your wedding is based on the number of people who will be attending. It will determine the size of your wedding venue and determine how much you spend on food, drinks, and wedding favors. How much are you ready to spend per person on your wedding?
- Choose Your Non-Negotiables
These are the things that are a must at your wedding. It would help if you were prepared to spend a lot on them. It will probably be different for you and your partner. Still, you must both have reasonable and acceptable reasons for them.
- Do Your Research
There are so many costs that you’ll need to consider before you nail down your wedding budget. Make sure you do your research and find out both the obvious and the hidden ones. You don’t want any surprises on or before your wedding day.
- Do the Math
After you’ve completed the above steps, it’s time to compile the final figure. Did your budget match the actual cost of your wedding? If it did, then you need to create a spreadsheet and allocate the funds as due. It’ll help you stay on track.
- Please Don’t Go into Debt to Say “I Do”
Starting a marriage on a foundation of debt is a bad idea. It’s one of the leading causes of divorce. Give yourself a fighting chance by sticking to your budget and the things that you can afford. Best of luck!
